About Us
At A 'Knew' Learning, we believe that every student has the ability to grow, learn, and become more independent—regardless of their starting point.
Founded by Kayla Dickinson, a Special Education Teacher with over 10 years of experience in teaching and childcare, A 'Knew' Learning was built on years of meaningful relationships with students of all ages, abilities, and educational backgrounds. Dyslexia Interventions
Our dyslexia support is grounded in evidence-based methods, including structured literacy and Orton-Gillingham-inspired instruction. We focus on phonological awareness, decoding, fluency, written expression, and comprehension—customized to meet each learner’s pace and needs.
-
Explicit, systematic reading interventions using structured literacy approaches grounded in the science of reading (e.g., phonological awareness, phonics, syllable types, and decoding strategies)
-
Multisensory instruction integrating visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile methods to strengthen orthographic mapping and long-term retention
-
Individualized support for learners with dyslexia and dysgraphia, including those with formal diagnoses or suspected language-based learning differences
-
Written expression support targeting spelling, handwriting (fine motor and letter formation), sentence structure, and composition strategies for students with dysgraphia
-
Progress monitoring and data-informed instruction tailored to each learner’s profile of strengths and challenges
Our goal is to build literacy skills while boosting confidence, motivation, and a love of reading in students who learn differently.
